OUR PURPOSE
The Madison County Parks and Recreation Department was created in November 2023. and is overseen by a board of community members, appointed by the County Commissioners, County Council, and County Surveyor. Together, we are working to implement the Madison County Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces Master Plan.

CURRENT PROJECTS
Connecting People and Places through Parks
The Parks and Recreation Department is bringing the Madison County Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces Master Plan to life by activating the White River Greenway Initiative, with two anchor parks in development. The department is also overseeing the Thriving Communities Program, a federally-funded program through the Department of Transportation.
